About our club

We are a long-established indoor bowls club situated in Latchingdon, Essex with an active membership drawn from the Maldon district, extending in large numbers to South Woodham Ferrers, Danbury, Wickford and stretching to Basildon, Chelmsford and Mersea Island. We run numerous leagues and provide social bowling as well as arranging a wide range of social events and quiz nights. In addition, we compete against other local Essex-based clubs and host regional and national competition matches.
Our Club is open all year round for competition and social bowling, with a summer and winter season.
We are a friendly Club and provide an air conditioned environment in which to play bowls and socialise, aided by our five-star hygiene rated café and licenced bar. We provide facilities for bowlers of all ages and abilities. Access to and throughout our building, including access onto our bowls rinks, is possible by wheelchair, and we have wide-wheeled wheelchairs available to lend to anyone needing one on the rinks.
We have regular visits by bowlers with disabilities and are keen to expand that area of our membership. If you are interested in taking up the sport but are unsure of how to get started due to a disability, please contact us.
The Jacks Centre Latchingdon is an affiliated member of the English Indoor Bowling Association and the Essex County Indoor Bowling Association
